Jesus in the New Testament
as the only one (Joh_14:6, Act_4:12, Joh_6:40) whom the Father has declared we must "have".... and to "hath the Son hath life" 1Jn_5:10-12 (to not believe this is to call God a liar 1Jn_5:10) -- Let us explore what it means to "have" Jesus: (557)
as the Subject of the "School of the Father" (see Joh_6:45 -- "taught of God" and "learned of the Father" ) --- a school that teaches one thing: YOU MUST COME TO JESUS ! (see Joh_6:45, Joh_6:65, 1Jn_5:9-12) This fact applies to Jews and Gentiles alike.(Col_1:27, Eph_3:5-7) Furthermore, the "eternal life" Jesus gives does not mean you won't die on this earth [ even at the hands of evil people ...Mat_5:11, Mat_23:37, Joh_15:20,Joh_16:2;Joh_16:4] but that He will raise you up in the last day (Joh_6:40; Joh_6:54). This eternal life is found (only -- Joh_14:6, Act_4:12, 1Co_3:11, 1Ti_2:5) in the Son as the following verse makes so plain: "and this life is in the Son" (1Jn_5:11) (443)
